Barbara Taylor is a talented potter specializing in the use of red clay. I met her at One-of-a-kind-show and absolutely fell in love with her work. I got to know her a little more when I interviewed her for this segment and was deeply moved by her personal story. Her meticulous research in the methods and uses of clay are evident in her work and story. LifeSpices is proud to introduce Barbara Taylor as the first artist in our series of “Artisan Stories“ and her work will be available for purchase on our recently launched marketplace starting May 28th, 2007.

My mission at LifeSpices is to find interesting and unique products that “add a little spice in our life” while doing good in some way..hence “world products made with love“. The Stefani Water Purifier is one of these products I discovered over a year ago in Africa.
I was charmed by the style and knowing the beneficial properties of clay I thought it was a clever design with a little tap and so on. I was really intrigued when I learned that this clay water vessel, well known to ancient civilizations and still in use in most 3rd world nations for its cooling detoxification properties is equipped with a very advanced ceramic filter. And so the search began … to learn more about the purifying elements of ceramic filters and learning about the manufacturer and their business philosophy.

- Reforestation program
- Food program for 180 factory employees and their families

- Member of Potters Association of Sao Paolo
- Founding member of the Water Quality Association of US

Stefani Water Purifiers, the first of a few hand picked products launched by LifeSpices now available online in our marketplace, was a great hit at the Green Living Show on April 27, 28 and 29th. We were blown off our feet with the amazing response from our visitors and a growing list of customers.
There were many behind the success of our launch and we’d like to acknowledge just a few of them here:
- Ceramica Stefani for sending Mr. Carlos Eduardo to support our launch;
- Mr. Reubens Stefani for the adorable terra cotta piggy banks individually made by Mr. Stefani himself;
- Sal Nocitra at the booth and many hours of planning;
- Shyla and Priya Hecktus for support at the booth (I am very proud of both of you);
- Suzanne Vaun for backing us up Saturday night so we could attend my nephew’s wedding reception in the evening, having missed the wedding in the morning (..Sunday was very painful);
- Organizers of the Green Living Show, Robert Orlovski and Kevin Legallais of the Direct Energy Centre
- Friends and family who have been supporting me to get to this point.
