Relationships are partnerships, right?

In a recent women’s networking workshop we were busy chatting about all of the responsibilities of managing our careers and businesses as well as coping with the tedious details of house cleaning and so on.

I was in a lively conversation with another woman, when she remarked that women should use the words “I need your help” with their partners more often. Isn’t that interesting? We as women almost always assume that it is our responsibility to take care of all of the details in the home. Why couldn’t we use words to share the responsibility with our partners and make it a “we” issue as opposed to an “I” issue? After all, aren’t relationships a partnership?
